SEATTLE — The Space Needle's $100 million renovation is getting underway, starting with seismic upgrades that will help the 605-foot structure withstand a major earthquake.
Work will involve installing steel splices in the Needle's core. Work started this week and is scheduled to continue through most of the summer.
