TACOMA — Sound Transit will show the latest designs for the 2.4-mile Tacoma Link Extension at an open house on Wednesday.
When it opens in 2022, the $217 million project will extend light rail from the Theater District, through the Stadium Way and Hilltop neighborhoods, to St. Joseph Medical Center at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and South 18th Street.
There will be six new stations and one relocated station, as well as an expanded operations and maintenance facility on East 25th Street.
The open house will be held 5-7 p.m. at Evergreen State College, 1210 6th Ave., Tacoma. Those unable to attend can visit tacomalinkopenhouse.org.
Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2018.
