Swedish Neuroscience Institute's Multiple Sclerosis Center brings together services for people with MS in one 11,700-square-foot facility at the Swedish Cherry Hill Campus.
Patients have access to neurologists; neuro-ophthalmologists; physiatrists; social workers; a psychologist; speech therapist; vocational, physical, occupational and cognitive rehab therapists; as well as others who specialize in supporting people with MS.
The clinic was designed by using "œevidence-based filters," such as choice, social support, positive distraction, access to nature and lack of environmental stressors. For example, a living wall allows for intuitive wayfinding and improves indoor air quality.
The location and layout of the clinic provide easy access. A gym is filled with equipment designed for people with MS, including physical and rehabilitative therapy programs.
A 1,500-square-foot outdoor therapy terrace offers a place for patients to practice walking over different terrain.
