Fife's new Brookville Gardens Park opened in August at 6512 Valley Ave. E.
The land was farmed by the Yotsuuye family since the 1950s, under the name Brookville Gardens. The family sold the land to the city in 2011.
The $8.5 million project to turn the 15-acre site into a park was a decades-long collaboration by the city, state and Puyallup Tribes.
There are trails, rain gardens, open grassy space, native plants, rehabilitated wetlands, a walking bridge, play structures, picnic shelters, interpretive signage and views of Wapato Creek.
Owner: City of Fife
Architect, landscape architect, engineer: BCRA
General contractor: BPCI Earthworks
