Selden's Home Furnishings is adding a 67,000-square-foot Bassett Furniture Direct store and warehouse service center next to its two retail stores in Fife.
|
The complete Bassett product line will be showcased in 25,000 square feet of the new building and the remaining space will be used as a service center/warehouse to serve the existing Selden's and Thomasville Home Furnishings stores.
The new showroom is expected to open in early fall. Merit Co. of Lakewood is the general contractor and the designer is Ross Deckman Architects of Puyallup.
The company plans to increase its staff from 80 employees to 100 due to the project. Selden's was established in 1940 by Sydney Selden in downtown Tacoma as a flooring and window covering store. It has since expanded into a full offering of home furnishings.
