Dally breaking ground in Renton

Dally Homes held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for Metropolitan Place, its third urban mixed-use apartment building in downtown Renton.

The 90-unit building is slated for the old Good Chevrolet site at 232 Burnett Ave. S.

When completed in spring 2002, it will feature studio, one- and two-bedroom units ranging in size from 578 to 1,010 square feet. Rents will range from $720 to $1,290.

The building will feature 3,500 square feet of retail space and 240 parking stalls, 150 of which will be leased to King County's Department of Transportation for a park-and-ride garage. It will be the first demonstration project in the state with living units over a park-and-ride garage.

Thomas Harkey Architects designed Metropolitan Place similar to Dally's recently completed 110-unit Renaissance at Renton.

Dally's third project in Renton is Burnett Station, a 58-unit apartment with 4,000 square feet of retail.
