Ocean Shores ship cleanup resumes

OCEAN SHORES, Grays Harbor County — Work resumes this week to remove the shipwrecked SS Catala from a beach at Ocean Shores, after a winter break.

The State Department of Ecology said the Catala has rested on the beach since a storm in 1965, but thousands of gallons of unmonitored diesel oil were not discovered until a beachcomber poked a stick into the wreck last year.
