Portland won't rest on green laurels at Greenbuild conference in Chicago

  • Portland is considered a leader in sustainable development internationally. But Chicago and Seattle are nipping at its heels.

    PORTLAND — In November, a horde of Oregonians will touch down in Chicago and settle into a boozy, schmoozy 20,000-square-foot lounge loaded with Portland vodka, Oregon pears, locally made bamboo coffee tables and couches covered with organic cotton.

    Then they're gonna party like it's Earth Day.
