Design team worked 'backwards' to create this LEED platinum building

  • The center in Baraboo, Wis., is the new headquarters for the Aldo Leopold Foundation, and was designed to reflect the values of Leopold, a forester, ecologist and writer.

    The design team had 90,000 board feet of wood available to build the center. Most of it was harvested from trees that were planted around the site by Aldo Leopold and processed at a local sawmill.

    The Aldo Leopold Legacy Center in Baraboo, Wis., is one of the highest rated LEED platinum buildings in the country.
