Portland developer finds there's a lot to learn about wind turbines, but he's ready

It has taken Gerding Edlen extra cash and lots of time to research how wind turbines would work in an urban environment. But the developer is committed to using them on its 12W project in Portland, which will also be headquarters for the architect, Zimmer Gunsul Frasca.

When you think about the first American city to have a building with wind turbines on it, a windy city like Chicago might come to mind. But a Portland project is aiming to be one of the first buildings in the country to actually build them.
