Alaskan teen sells custom outhouses online

  • The 2000 U.S. Census found that one in four homes in Alaska was without indoor plumbing, placing the state first in the nation for a lack of modern plumbing.

    PALMER, Alaska — Daniel Buckingham points out features that come standard with his custom Alaska outhouse.

    “This is sort of the basic,” the 16-year-old says, standing in front of his 4-foot by 4-foot, nearly 7-foot high plywood and spruce outhouse with pitched, shingled roof.
