Hawaii looks to save Turtle Bay

HONOLULU (AP) — Gov. Linda Lingle has proposed that the state purchase the Turtle Bay resort and surrounding land on Oahu's North Shore.

The purchase would involve 850 acres of prime beach-front land which has been proposed for further resort development opposed by some local residents and environmental groups.
