Nickels, Sims both want more efficient buildings

In the last week Seattle and King County both announced they will begin working on plans to improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels wants Seattle to be the nation's capital of green building and yesterday he unveiled his Green Building Capital initiative that outlines three green goals for the city. The goals are improving energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings by 20 percent, lowering home energy bills by reducing waste and creating “green collar jobs” in the energy efficiency area.
