Mayor proposes fix for Madison flooding

Mayor Greg Nickels has proposed the city spend between $24 million and $33 million to fix flooding problems in Madison Valley.

The solution would involve funneling stormwater coming off Capitol Hill into new pipes under East Madison Street and storing it at a soccer field in the arboretum until it could drain into Lake Washington.
