Chambers Bay fir damaged by vandal

UNIVERSITY PLACE — Last week, an unknown person tried to chop down an iconic Douglas fir tree at Chambers Bay golf course in University Place.

There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to the chopper's arrest. The tree is a signature image of the golf course, and often appears in media pictures.
