The new Edmonds store is located in a remodeled 1980s Albertsons grocery. About 97 percent of material removed from the old store was recycled, but the team was disappointed not to reach 100 percent.

PCC Natural Markets opens its newest store today in Edmonds at 9803 Edmonds Way. The 25,000-square-foot store is designed to be LEED platinum and could be the first platinum grocery store in the country if it gets certified.
