County transfers 1,500 forest acres

OLYMPIA (AP) — King County is transferring nearly 1,500 forested acres in the Snoqualmie area to the state Department of Natural Resources, which will manage the land as a working forest.

The arrangement, outlined Tuesday to the state Board of Natural Resources, will keep the area between Tiger Mountain and Rattlesnake Ridge in “forests forever.” The land will be managed to provide long-term revenue to King County.
