The Puget Sound Partnership yesterday released its long awaited draft proposal for restoring Puget Sound, which the agency says is “sick and dying” even though it may look healthy. Much of the plan is focused on land use.
The draft action agenda is part of the partnership's larger goal of cleaning up the Sound by 2020. The partnership won't give a figure for what the cleanup will cost but it is estimated to be billions of dollars. The draft has been 18 months in the making. The partnership is a state agency founded in May 2007 by the Legislature and Gov. Chris Gregoire.
