Within a year, if all goes as planned, it should be easier to build green in Seattle, thanks to expedited permitting and a new review board dedicated to innovative projects that push the envelope.
These changes are two things the Seattle Green Building Task Force has suggested as ways to make Seattle's commercial and residential buildings 20 percent more energy efficient. Mayor Greg Nickels set the 20 percent goal last year, and convened the task force last summer to figure out how to reach it.
