Idaho needs new dump for mine waste

KELLOGG, Idaho (AP) — Environmental officials say Idaho's Silver Valley will soon need a new hazardous waste site to dump tainted soil removed during Superfund clean ups of mining waste.

Idaho Department of Environmental Quality mine waste scientist Andy Mork said the agency is considering several sites between Kellogg and Mullan for a new repository.
