Everett compost plant is ready for more business

  • Seattle's goal is to divert 60 percent of its waste to recycling or composting by 2012. Today, it diverts 48 percent.

    Starting March 30, Seattleites will be able to put items like fish, meat and cheese in their food and yard waste carts for the first time. The change wouldn't be possible without the city's contractor, Seattle-based Cedar Grove Composting, and its Everett plant.
