CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — Recycling is important to Heidi Kleve.
When she and her partner, Phillip Salfen, decided to buy the foreclosed house next door to expand their lot, Kleve wanted to do more than just tear it down. She wanted to find a way to recycle as much of the 1,000-square-foot house as possible. “I wanted to keep stuff out of the landfill,” she said. “Some of the stuff in the house is too good to torch.”
