SEATTLE — The 39-story Olive 8 hotel/condo building downtown has received LEED silver status from the U.S. Green Building Council, a first for hotel/condo buildings in the Seattle area, according to a news release from the developer.
The Hyatt at Olive 8 hotel is now also one of only 20 hotels in the United States to be designated “green” by the U.S. Green Building Council, developer R.C. Hedreen Co. said.
In addition to an expected energy savings of 23 percent more than a conventional building of similar size and occupancy, Olive 8 is expected to have water savings of about 36 percent, Hedreen said.
