Enterprise pledges $4B to make affordable housing that's green

    Enterprise Community Partners said yesterday it will raise $4 billion to build green affordable housing projects as part of its Green Communities Initiative. The Pacific Northwest is one of eight markets where Enterprise will focus.

    The Maryland-based nonprofit provides development capital for affordable homes and communities. Five years ago, it launched the initiative with a goal of proving that green housing could also be affordable, and invested $700 million in housing.
