Grays Harbor College starts forestry program

  • Graduates of other colleges' forestry courses often get multiple job offers.

    ABERDEEN, Grays Harbor County — When Grays Harbor College announced it was starting a forestry program, instructor Todd Bates said he heard the same question everywhere: With the timber products industry closing down mills, why train people to work in that industry?

    There's an easy explanation, according to Bates, a forester with 15 years of field experience in Idaho and southeast Washington.
