Corps starts work on Fremont Cut

SEATTLE — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, will begin the second phase of restoration work on Wednesday along the Fremont Cut of the Lake Washington Ship Canal.

Work includes removing 29 poplar trees in the historic colonnade and planting 40. Eight existing young trees will be retained.
