PUD: Conservation saved $6M in 2009

EVERETT (AP) — The Snohomish County Public Utilities District says energy conservation saved its ratepayers $5.8 million last year.

The Herald of Everett reports that some of the biggest energy savers were private businesses. Nearly 700 around the county participated in conservation programs last year, saving enough energy to power 6,000 homes.
