County OKs 200 stations for e-vehicles

Yesterday, the Metropolitan King County Council adopted an ordinance that establishes policies to support electric vehicles in the region. Up to 200 charging stations at county facilities will be made available for public use.

The new ordinance approves a program to install up to 200 charging stations at county-owned, leased or partnering organizations' facilities, such as Metro Transit and park and ride lots. Metro has already installed 39 charging stations and the county is working with other area agencies and the private sector to identify other potential sites.
