Team donates time to build first living building in state

Bertschi’s campus will help the new science classroom meet the living building challenge. Solar panels placed on a taller, adjacent building will provide all the classroom’s energy.

Today, the Bertschi School breaks ground on what will likely be the first living building in Washington State. The force behind the project is a group of architects, engineers and contractors called the Restorative Design Collective that has donated their time to the project for free.
