Farm fined $90K for illegal dumping

YAKIMA (AP) — A Yakima Valley farm has agreed to pay $90,000 to the Washington Department of Ecology to settle allegations of illegal dumping.

Used oil and pesticide containers were found buried in shallow pits at Double H Farms in Grandview in March 2009. The Ecology Department originally imposed a $165,000 penalty but announced the smaller settlement Monday.
