REI workers help with habitat project

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — About 50 employees for the new REI store in Medford spent their first day on the job Sunday pulling weeds and doing other habitat restoration work along Bear Creek near downtown Medford.

REI outreach coordinator James Hetland told the Mail Tribune that working on the restoration project will give the new employees a better understanding of the community.
