Record year for Wash. nuclear plant

RICHLAND (AP) — The operator of the only nuclear power plant in the Northwest says it had a record year in 2012, producing more electricity than ever before in the 28-year history of the Columbia Generating Station at Richland.

Energy Northwest says the plant ran continuously, except for 10 days of maintenance in May, and generated 9.34 million megawatts for the regional grid.
