Crews to start removing mercury from former G-P site in Bellingham

Crews will build an enclosure inside this building to contain vapors while they mix contaminated soil with sulfur and cement for disposal. The building will be demolished after that.

Strider Construction of Bellingham is mobilizing equipment at the former Georgia-Pacific West site and next month will begin removing contaminated soil for the Port of Bellingham and state Department of Ecology.
