SEQUIM (AP) — The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is equipping two 10-ton buoys at its Marine Science Lab in Sequim to help research offshore wind power.
The bright yellow buoys are each worth $1.3 million. After testing in Washington waters, the lab says they’ll be deployed in November for up to a year at offshore wind demonstration projects near Coos Bay, Oregon, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
