BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — The City Council voted to use renewable power generated from Puget Sound Energy's Green Power Program to offset all of the electricity used to power city facilities.
The city said it will be the first city in Kitsap County and the third in the state to purchase all its power from the green power program. Powering city-owned facilities with renewable energy will cost about $14,000 more per year.
Information about the program is at pse.com under savingsandenergycenter.
