Report: Tech firms cut more than 100,000 jobs

  • The report says this is not indicative of a sector in decline, but of one that is in flux.
  • Tech companies nationwide shed 100,757 jobs in 2014 — the first time the industry has lost more than 100,000 jobs since 2009, according to a new report.

The report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas, an outplacement firm based in Chicago, does not take into account the number of jobs added. It just tracks layoffs announced by tech companies.
