Strange But True!

Q. From Pee Wee Football on up to the pros, who's getting hit rather surprisingly hard in games these days?

A. When sociologist Jennifer Carter investigated the subject of women's pro football, her research turned out to be so hard-hitting it left her bruised and nursing a torn hamstring, says Bruce Bower in Science News magazine. She had suited up as a defensive back for the Cincinnati Sizzle in the Women's Football Alliance (WFA), which has over 50 teams and more than 1,800 players.
