SEATTLE — Joan Didion's memoir, “The Year of Magical Thinking,” was written following the death of her husband, the writer John Gregory Dunne, in December of 2003. Her story of love, loss and the power of grief won a 2005 National Book Award.
Didion, who is known for her cool, elegant prose, adapted the memoir into a play that premiered in 2007 and will open tonight at Intiman Theatre.
