SEATTLE — Seattle Rep said the musicial “Here Lies Love” has been extended through June 18.
The Rep calls the play a “poperetta,” with concept and lyrics by David Byrne of Talking Heads fame. Bagley Wright Theatre turns into a vibrant dance party to tell the story of the Philippines' People Power Revolution.
“Here Lies Love” traces the non-violent restoration of democracy in the Philippines in 1986, and follows the rise and fall of the controversial First Lady Imelda Marcos.
The director is Alex Timbers, and music is by David Byrne, Fatboy Slim, Tom Gandey and J Pardo. The play is choreographed by Annie-B Parson.
