In Sindelfingen, Germany, where the Mercedes Benz auto factory headquarters is located, there is a tunnel entrance downtown. The tunnel goes under one of the quite high hills around the city to emerge outside the city. Part way through the tunnel there is a stop light at a four-way intersection where another tunnel intersects it. Seattle should consider a side tunnel that would emerge at Harrison Street where it meets Elliott Avenue West. It would only require a three-way intersection on each of the two levels.
