Joyce P. Griffin-Sobel has been named dean of the College of Nursing at Washington State University, effective May 16. She is dean and professor at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, and has more than 25 years of experience in academic nursing.

Microscan

Renton-based Microscan, a tech firm focused on barcode, machine vision, verification and lighting solutions, named Richard Cheng regional sales director for the Greater China region, which including China and Hong Kong. He has worked in sales for six years at Microscan and recently led the China sales team.

ConcertoHealth

ConcertoHealth, formerly Fidelis SeniorCare, named Stacey Zierath as Washington market president. Zierath has more than 25 years of experience in health care at Virginia Mason and PeaceHealth, and be in charge of opening of two new care centers in Lakewood and Lynnwood. The company said it combines social work with care management and clinical services. It has a center in Renton and will open two centers Feb. 23: 2322 196th St. S.W. in Lynnwood and 8815 S. Tacoma Way in Lakewood.

Pierce County

Pierce County Executive Pat McCarthy named Libby Catalinich director of communications. She is a senior advisor at JayRay Marketing in Tacoma and was director of corporate communications for REI and senior vice president of public relations for Washington Mutual. The county's acting director of communications, Ron Klein, will continue in his role as acting deputy county executive.

The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation named Pedro J. Marti to its board of directors. He is a senior financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors. The foundation invests in public education, theatre, career pathways and supportive care, primarily in Washington state and Los Angeles County. It was founded in 2001 by Sheri and Les Biller.

Frazier Healthcare Partners

Frazier Healthcare Partners, which provides growth capital to health care companies, hired Anthony Draye as an executive partner on the Growth Buyout team. Draye has spent 10 years helping health care companies with IT strategy. He worked for TridentUSA Health Services and also worked for Boeing on software development. Frazier has over $2.4 billion under management and has investments in 170 companies.

URG promotes Black and Jackson

Urban Renaissance Group promoted Troy Black to chief financial officer of both URG and Touchstone, and Shawn Jackson to vice president and regional manager of URG. Black is currently CFO of Touchstone, which was acquired by URG in 2014 and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary. He has more than 25 years of financial and real estate experience including leadership positions at Weyerhaeuser's real estate arm. Jackson is currently URG's general manager. In his new role, Jackson will focus on business development with an emphasis on leasing and operations. Jackson worked at Hanover Co., Equity Office Properties Trust and The Benaroya Co.

Tarragon hires Aegir Olsen

Tarragon hired Aegir Olsen as a development associate to focus on acquisitions and market analysis for the multifamily and industrial teams. Olsen recently graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in construction management. Tarragon develops residential, industrial, office and retail projects in Washington, California and Nevada.

Mia Marshall joins NAIOP board

Mia Marshall has been selected to join NAIOP's national board of directors. Marshall is a managing principal at EHS Design, a Nelson company. She serves on the Washington NAIOP chapter board and now will be on both boards concurrently. Washington's chapter is the fifth largest in the U.S. with more than 800 members.

Promotions, new hires at Avenue 55

Avenue 55 said it promoted Drew Zaborowski to development manager and added Emily Welch as a development associate. Zaborowski started at Avenue 55 in 2013 as a development associate working on industrial and office projects. Welch will handle industrial, office and mixed-use projects. The Seattle-based firm focuses on investment and development. Its website lists several industrial projects in south Puget Sound.

CREW economic forecast Feb. 11

Commercial Real Estate Women Seattle & Sound will offer its 2016 economic forecast at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at Washington Athletic Club in Seattle. Speakers are Svenja Gudell, chief economist at Zillow; Stuart Williams, managing director at Jones Lang LaSalle; and Skylar Olsen, senior economist at Zillow.
