KPFF Consulting Engineers named Andrew K. Bennett and Jeremy S. Febus principals in the Seattle office. Bennett is in the Washington division civil/structural group. He has 29 years of experience in marine engineering and project management, and a background in naval architecture and coastal zone management. He helped lead the WSDOT SR-520 Casting Basin project. Febus has 18 years of civil engineering experience, working with public agencies and developers on Puget Sound projects, including Nexus Tower. KPFF is a civil and structural engineering firm.

At its Edmonds headquarters, Landau Associates hired Eri Ottersburg as a senior scientist and Laura Crandall as a project coordinator. In Olympia, it hired Annabel Warnell and Brandon Mowrey as a staff engineers-in-training. Ottersburg has 15 years of air quality consulting experience. She will assist with permitting, dispersion modeling and compliance. Crandall has a background in copy editing and operational processes. She is responsible for administrative functions, editing and quality control on projects. Warnell holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Saint Martin's University. She does geotechnical explorations and laboratory analysis, and provides technical support for geotechnical reports. Mowrey is a U.S. Army veteran and holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Saint Martin's University. He does geotechnical explorations and laboratory analysis, and provides CAD and technical support for geotechnical reports. Landau offers geotechnical and environmental engineering, remediation, and permitting and compliance services.

In Seattle, DCI Engineers hired Joye Moore as a structural project engineer and Jarrett Grant, Tami Jansma and John Samuelson as civil project engineers, and promoted Aaron Miller to structural project manager. Moore is working on Avalon North Creek Apartments in Bothell. Before joining DCI, she analyzed structures supporting telecommunications equipment. Grant is working on housing projects in Seattle and Redmond requiring grading, drainage and utility design. Before joining the firm, he was a design engineer for projects involving stormwater management. Jansma is doing drafting support for a street improvement plan in Seattle. Before joining DCI, she was a project engineer doing grant writing, proposals, floodplain studies and designing. Samuelson has 15 years of industry experience in King County. He is working on Alderwood Apartments. Miller has designed light industrial, commercial, mixed-use and housing projects, including N-Habit Belltown in Seattle. DCI is a civil and structural engineering firm with offices in Washington, Oregon, California, Texas and Alaska.

In Seattle, BCRA hired Graham Golbuff as a landscape designer. In Tacoma, it hired Brenna Harrington as a civil engineer and Marissa Rosati as an interior designer. Golbuff has a master of landscape architecture degree from the University of Washington, and interned at GGLO. At BCRA, he has worked on education, parks and housing projects. Harrington has bachelor's degrees in civil engineering and Spanish from the University of Portland, and interned at Puget Sound Energy. Rosati has two years of experience, including at Coates Design Architects. She has worked on office, restaurant/hospitality and housing projects and has an interior design master's from Washington State University. BCRA provides architecture, interior design, civil and structural engineering, land-use planning and landscape architecture.

Veritus Group has added Carter Wade as senior client services director, working with partners Richard Perry and Jeff Schreifels. Wade has 29 years of experience in direct response marketing and fundraising, most recently with Masterworks, a fundraising consulting agency in Seattle. Veritus Group is a mid and major gift agency serving nonprofits in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Washington Environmental Council hired a new Puget Sound program director: Mindy Roberts. She was with the Washington Department of Ecology as lead Puget Sound scientist, working on science and public policy issues.

Corps Walla Walla District

Lt. Col. Damon A. Delarosa has assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District. Lt. Col. Timothy R. Vail was the district commander for two years. The Walla Walla District covers 107,000 square miles in six states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Utah, providing hydropower, environmental stewardship, flood risk management and recreation opportunities, and maintaining a commercial navigation channel in the Snake and Columbia rivers. Delarosa was at NATO Joint Forces Command in Brunssum, The Netherlands.

Brown Bear Car Wash

Brown Bear Car Wash has opened a new tunnel wash in Puyallup at 4412 S. Meridian, its 44th location in Washington. Brown Bear now owns and operates seven car washes in Pierce County. The company owns and operates 22 tunnel and 22 self-service car washes in the Puget Sound area and Spokane.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction hired Aaron Roche as estimator, Matt Koberg as project manager, Sabrina San Filippo as site safety manager and Jocelyne Tsimi as HR assistant. Roche has more than 11 years of experience as a cost estimator and project controls lead. His is a LEED Green Associate and has completed five years as a Certified Cost Technician. Koberg holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University and has 14 years of industry experience. San Filippo has five years of experience, and is training on-site crews about safe work practices and ensuring safety protocols are being adhered to. Tsimi is working on an associate's degree in HR management.

University Mechanical Contractors promoted Randy Koetje, PE, to engineering manager and Julianne Mattecheck to project engineer. Koetje joined UMC in 2013 as a senior engineer and was a lead on several notable projects, including Block 14 and 400 Fairview. Mattecheck joined UMC over a year ago as a fab shop coordinator. She has been communicating and coordinating operations with pre-construction groups.

Kent-based Novinium hired Mike Woodmansee as vice president of western operations for North America. Woodmansee is managing finances and optimizing operations. He has more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently as CFO at Horizon Solar Power in California and Snelson Companies in Washington. Novinium has an injection process that rejuvenates and extends the life of cables up to 40 years.
