In Seattle, BCRA hired Nicole Remy as an associate in the architecture team and Robin Geotina as a project manager. In Tacoma, it hired Shannon Cannell as an accounting assistant and Joseph Chung as an associate in the architecture team. Also, the firm added Jeni Enslin, director of staff resources, and Jim Wolch, senior associate architect, as shareholders. BCRA said broadening ownership is part of a long-term strategy of investing in new leaders. Remy holds a bachelor's in geodesign from the University of Southern California. She was a BCRA intern, and is working on Starbucks and Taco Time projects. Geotina has 20 years of experience, with a focus in environmental and sustainability design, and has managed retail projects for CallisonRTKL and JLL. Cannell has 12 years of experience and a bachelor's in accounting from the University of Oregon. Chung holds an architectural studies degree from Washington State University. He has been providing architectural support on education, retail and parks and recreation projects. BCRA provides architecture, interior design, civil engineering, structural engineering, land use planning and landscape architecture.

In Spokane, Century West Engineering hired Josh Van Wie as a project manager. He has six years of experience at engineering consulting firms in western Washington and Texas, working on water resources and site development projects. He has a bachelor's in civil engineering and master's in hydrology and water resources science from Washington State University.

In Bellevue, Freiheit Architecture hired Angela Van Duzen, Kelsey Jancola and Melanie Baron as architectural designers and Morgan Warner as an architectural intern. Van Duzen holds a master of architecture from Portland State University. She has four years of experience and is working on commercial and multi-family projects. Jancola has a master of architecture from Washington State University and two years of experience. She is working on commercial and TI projects. Baron has a bachelor of architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and is working on retail and senior living projects. Warner is pursuing a master's of architecture at the University of Washington. She is working on national restaurant redesign projects. Freiheit is a commercial architecture and interior design firm.

Seattle-based Rolluda Architects hired Monica Mancera Aranda as a project architect and Helena Sanjuan Villanueva, Michael Freund, Eleanor Shull and Princess Coleman as project designers. Aranda has a bachelor's in architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She is working on a community center stabilization project for Seattle, and Seattle City Light's North Service Center. Villanueva has a bachelor of architecture from Universidad Politecnica de Cataluna's Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura del Valles in Barcelona. She participated in the rehabilitation of Palau de la Musica Catalana, a World Heritage Site. She is working on projects for Boeing and King County Solid Waste. Freund has a bachelor's in architectural studies from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is working on Tukwila School District's Showalter Middle School and Sound Transit's Lynnwood Link Extension 185th station and garage. Shull studied architecture in Florence and is pursuing a bachelor of architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is working on gender-neutral restroom remodels for Seattle Municipal Tower. Coleman has a bachelor of film and television from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is pursuing a master of architecture at the University of Washington. She is working on Rolluda Architects' submission for the 2018 Seattle Design Festival.

DLR Group

In Seattle, DLR Group added Kyla Peterson (interiors) and Julie Reynolds (architecture) to its design staff. The firm provides architecture, engineering, interiors, planning and building optimization.

Western State Hospital

The state Department of Social and Health Services named Dave Holt CEO of Western State Hospital. Holt has been COO of the hospital since 2015 and was interim CEO for two months. He has over 35 years of hospital administration and mental health management experience, mostly with Department of Veterans Affairs' hospitals in Southern California.

Ageility Physical Therapy

Ageility Physical Therapy Solutions this month is opening clinics in Shelton, Bremerton, Burlington and Mount Vernon that offer physical, occupational and speech therapy. Ageility partners with local home health agencies and establishes outpatient clinics in senior living settings. It is part of Newton, Massachusetts-based Five Star Senior Living.

Yapta

Seattle-based Yapta, an airfare and hotel price tracking service, hired Bruce Hanna as general manager of Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Hanna has worked in the travel industry for over 20 years, most recently as vice president at Antenna International in charge of commercial operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

REI

The used equipment website for outdoor gear co-op REI is out of beta testing and ready to go. It will sell used products for up to 65 percent less than new ones, and offer member-to-member gear swaps. The site is REI.com/used. Peter Whitcomb is director of strategy and leader of REI's used gear efforts.
