NAIOP picks Vulcan as top developer

Vulcan Inc. was named the Developer of the Year last week by the Washington State Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

Vulcan was honored for its ongoing redevelopment of more than 60 acres in the South Lake Union neighborhood. The company's property holdings will allow it to build more than 10 million square feet of office, bioscience, retail and residential space.

The other winners were:

Industrial Development of the Year

  • Shipwreck Beads: Shipwreck Beads, Lacey

Technology Space (Biotech, High-tech, Flex Tech) Development of the Year

  • Touchstone Corp.: 9th & Stewart Life Sciences Building

Real Estate Deal of the Year

  • Touchstone Corp.: 9th & Stewart Life Sciences Building

Redevelopment/Renovation of the Year

  • Unico Properties: Skinner Building upgrades

Owner Representative of the Year

  • Mark Weed and team: Brokered deal for Fisher Communications
