Mountlake Terrace is trying to create a bustling downtown

Mountlake Terrace is working to get its downtown back.

The strip, which runs along 56th Avenue West between 230th and 244th streets Southwest, started emptying out in the 1970s as nearby Lynnwood developed into south Snohomish County's chief commercial center.
