Wine country resort planned for 500-acre site near Yakima

A Colorado-based developer has formed a joint venture with two local partners to build a Tuscan-themed wine country resort on 500 acres 20 minutes east of Yakima off Highway 24.

The Vineyards is being developed by SBC, a partnership between Eagle Resort Development of Crested Butte, Colo., and Yakima developers Craig Schultz and Gary Scott. SBC valued the project at $70 million.
