Bellingham hotel gets rehab for lower-income housing

Plans call for 20 apartments in the Hotel Laube and two redesigned commercial spaces at street-level.

With downtown Bellingham becoming a haven for new condos and retail, the city's housing authority has started a $5.6 million project that will save a historic building and provide a home for lower-income residents.
