Secure a big tenant, get bigger buildings

    The prospect of keeping a big business and jobs in Seattle helped Vulcan Inc. get a two-block up-zone in South Lake Union this week, a year in advance of an expected rezoning of the neighborhood.

    City officials also approved a comprehensive plan amendment that would pave the way for Starbucks Center owner Nitze-Stagen to expand Starbucks' office space in SoDo beyond the size currently allowed.
