Seattle Opera eyes Mercer Arena lease

SEATTLE — The Seattle City Council's parks committee will hold a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 25 at City Hall to discuss leasing the Mercer Arena to the Seattle Opera.

Mayor Greg Nickels announced last month his plan for a 30-year lease agreement for Mercer Arena to house Seattle Opera's operations, including rehearsal areas, costume and props departments, and administrative offices.
