AvalonBay 'kicks into high gear' in NW

  • The Alexandria, Va.-based REIT is making a big push in the area, planning to start construction on as many as four luxury apartment projects.

    The Avalon Towers-Bellevue at Northeast 10th Street and Bellevue Way Northeast will have two buildings: one 23 stories and one 19. There will be 17,000 square feet of retail.

    AvalonBay Communities will start construction of three — possibly four — luxury apartment projects in the Puget Sound region this year and next as part of a development push in the Pacific Northwest, according to a company official.
